New Album Coming Very Soon

"Tumatakuru", will be the first Long Player from Love Rhino to be available internationally on CD. It should hit stores at some stage in in late 2008. The album was written, recorded and produced over a two year period in Wellington, New Zealand.

The album is a lush mixture of organic sounds and electronic production; melding synthesisers, found-sounds and electronic percussion with guitars, saxophone, vocals and ocasional drums from special guest Mark Finlay. The album features eleven tracks in all, moving deftly from delicate emotive acoustic pastures to funky, rocking electronic mayhem.

Biography

Love Rhino (né Jonathan O'Riordan) is singer, guitarist, electronic musician and looping enthusiast from Dublin, Ireland. He enjoys making music of various flavours as well as writing biographies about himself in the third person. His first foray into music came when he began learning guitar and tin whistle at the age of 7. His first public performance was in 1993, at the age of 17, in front of a crowd of 300, less than 24 hours after writing his first song. After a few years playing guitar and bass in various bands, he took to the stage in his signature blue Y fronts and rhino horn cape at Molloys bar with The Alphabet Set for the first Dublin Electronic Arts Festival. His current musical flavour has been discribed (primarily by himself) as a fusion of guitar, vocals, saxophone and lush synthesised melodies blended with electronic and acoustic percussive allsorts resulting in a rich, vibrant, uplifting sound with a distinctly funky edge.
